Jozben Barrett
(Bolingbroke, Producer) is a Los Angeles based actor, director, producer, educator and co-founder of Creative Pulse Co. His history with this play stems back to 2007 when he performed in the Independent Shakespeare Company’s production of Richard II. It was then he developed his love for not only the piece, but the playwright as well. He is thrilled for the opportunity to play the character that he admired the most during his previous production.Recently, Jozben directed George C. Wolfe’s play The Colored Museum for The Collective at CalArts, a multi-disciplinary arts organization that strives for the preservation of African-American culture. He is also the co-founder of The Collective and has appeared in many of its productions such as August Wilson’s King Hedley II, Douglas Turner Ward’s Day of Absence, and ‘The Depth of Black Art’ directed by James Avery.
Some of Jozben’s favorite performances include Three Sisters (Tuzenbach) directed by Melissa Chalsma, The Time of Your Life (Joe) directed by Peter Grego, The Imaginary Invalid (Thomas) directed by Ron Popenhaugen, and The Way of the World (Petulant) directed by Mary Lou Rosato. Jozben received his MFA in Acting from the CalArts School of Theater and his undergraduate degree in Theatre Arts from Cal State University, Northridge.
